Environmental Engineer

We are seeking an experienced Environmental Engineer to lead environmental sustainability, regulatory compliance and continuous improvement initiatives across facilities and infrastructure operations. The role will focus on environmental performance, resource efficiency, pollution prevention and the implementation of sustainable operational practices.

Key Responsibilities

• Lead the planning, implementation and monitoring of Programmes, ensuring alignment with environmental objectives and sustainability targets.

• Develop and implement environmental management strategies, policies and improvement initiatives.

• Monitor environmental performance, including energy consumption, water efficiency, waste management, emissions and resource utilisation.

• Ensure compliance with UAE environmental regulations, applicable standards and ISO 14001 requirements.

• Conduct environmental inspections, audits, risk assessments and compliance reviews.

• Identify opportunities for pollution prevention, carbon reduction, waste minimisation and sustainable resource management.

• Collaborate with operational teams, contractors and stakeholders to implement environmental initiatives and best practices.

• Develop environmental KPIs, performance reports and dashboards to track programme effectiveness.

• Conduct environmental awareness sessions and promote a culture of sustainability and environmental responsibility.

Requirements

• Bachelor's degree in Environmental Engineering, Environmental Science, Sustainability Engineering or a related discipline.

• Minimum 5 years of relevant experience in Environmental Engineering, Environmental Management or Sustainability.

• Strong knowledge of environmental regulations, ISO 14001, environmental management systems and sustainability practices.

• Experience implementing environmental programmes within Facilities Management, Infrastructure, Engineering or large-scale operational environments.

• Knowledge of energy efficiency, water conservation, waste management, emissions monitoring and environmental risk assessments.

• Proven ability to coordinate environmental initiatives, monitor KPIs and engage multiple stakeholders.

• Strong analytical, project coordination, communication and reporting skills.

• ISO 14001 Lead Auditor, NEBOSH Environmental Management or equivalent certifications are advantageous.

Candidates with experience leading environmental sustainability programmes across complex, multi-site facilities will be preferred.
