ERP Functional Consultant (Finance)

About the Role

We are seeking an experienced ERP Functional Consultant with a strong background in accounting, ERP systems, or financial software to join an innovative product development team building next-generation AI-powered financial technology solutions. This is a hybrid functional role that combines business analysis with quality assurance, focusing on validating financial logic, business rules, and accounting outcomes across complex integrated systems.

You will work closely with product managers, developers, and customers to ensure the platform delivers accurate, reliable, and compliant financial outcomes. This role is ideal for someone who understands both finance and technology and enjoys solving complex business challenges within a fast-paced product environment.

Ideal Profile

Experience & Industry Background

• Minimum 5 years of experience as a:
  • Business Analyst
  • Functional Consultant
  • ERP Consultant
  • Financial Systems Consultant
• Strong background in accounting, finance, ERP, or financial software environments
• Experience working across multiple concurrent projects within product or software development teams
• Ability to translate business requirements into functional specifications and test scenarios

Finance & ERP Expertise

• Strong understanding of accounting principles and financial business processes
• Experience working with financial software or ERP platforms
• Ability to validate financial data flows, accounting transactions, and business outcomes
• Experience with one or more of the following platforms is highly desirable:

  • Dynamics 365 Finance & Operations
  • SAP Business One
  • Oracle NetSuite

Quality Assurance & Technical Skills

• Experience designing manual and automated test scenarios
• Strong understanding of:

  • Automated testing tools
• Experience using Azure DevOps, Jira, or similar test management platforms
• Exposure to AI-enabled software platforms is advantageous

Responsibilities

Business Analysis

• Collaborate with product managers, developers, and customers to gather and document business requirements
• Analyse accounting workflows and translate business needs into detailed functional specifications
• Develop user stories, acceptance criteria, and functional documentation
• Participate in solution design discussions and provide recommendations from a functional perspective
• Understand customer business processes and validate expected financial outcomes

Quality Assurance

• Design and execute comprehensive manual and automated test scenarios
• Develop end-to-end test plans covering financial workflows and integrated business processes
• Perform regression, integration, system, and user acceptance testing
• Identify, document, reproduce, and track software defects through to resolution
• Build reusable testing frameworks and continuously improve QA processes

Financial Validation

• Validate accounting functionality across key financial modules including:
  • General Ledger
  • Accounts Payable
  • Accounts Receivable
  • Bank Reconciliation
  • Trial Balance
  • Balance Sheet
  • Profit & Loss
  • GST/VAT calculations
  • Inventory
  • Payroll
  • Purchase Orders
  • Sales Orders
  • Financial Reporting
  • Budgeting
  • Cost Centres
  • Cash Flow
• Verify AI-generated accounting outputs against expected financial and business outcomes
• Ensure financial transactions are processed accurately across integrated systems

Integration Testing & Continuous Improvement

• Test integrations between ERP, accounting, inventory, payroll, CRM, POS, banking, reporting platforms, and AI services
• Ensure data integrity across multiple integrated applications
• Support continuous improvement initiatives to enhance product quality and testing efficiency
• Help bridge the gap between finance, customers, and software engineering teams by providing functional expertise and quality assurance leadership
