The Estimator supports the planning, estimating, and coordination of projects during the preconstruction phase, helping to ensure accurate pricing, strategic alignment, and a seamless transition into execution. This role assists with developing estimates, soliciting and evaluating trade partner bids, performing quantity takeoffs, and collaborating with clients, trade partners, and internal teams to support pursuit strategy, value engineering, and constructability reviews. The ideal candidate is a proactive team player who is committed to delivering high-quality, competitive project solutions while contributing to the continued growth and success of the organization.


What You'll Do:

Preconstruction Process Management

  • Coordinates with internal teams to align on project approach and deliverables
  • Manages preconstruction documentation, RFIs, and bid submissions
  • Supports seamless handoff to project teams and post-award coordination
  • Manages workload across multiple projects and deadlines

Estimating & Cost Management

  • Prepares conceptual, schematic, and detailed cost estimates
  • Perform quantity takeoffs, scope reviews, and bid tabulations
  • Produces accurate, organized, and timely estimates and deliverables
  • Assists with cost studies, benchmarking, and use of historical data

Procurement & Bid Management

  • Solicits and manages bids from subcontractors and vendors
  • Communicates scope requirements and clarifications during bidding
  • Evaluates subcontractor pricing, coverage, and qualifications
  • Supports subcontractor bid leveling and scope comparisons

Strategy, Planning & Risk Management

  • Contributes to pursuit strategy, risk identification, and competitive positioning

Relationships & Business Development

  • Builds and maintains strong trade partner relationships
  • Represents the company professionally with clients and partners

Market Trends & Continuous Improvement

  • Continues to develop technical skills, industry knowledge, and company processes


What You’ll Bring:

  • 2+ years of experience in construction estimating, project engineering, project coordination, or a related construction role, preferably with a general contractor.
  • Experience supporting estimates and bid efforts for commercial construction, tenant improvement, or similar projects.
  • Ability to manage multiple estimating assignments and deadlines in a fast-paced environment.
  • Working knowledge of construction documents, scopes of work, and bid packages.
  • Experience soliciting and coordinating trade partner bids, including bid comparisons and scope review.
  • Exposure to quantity takeoffs, cost estimating, budgeting, and pricing analysis.
  • Familiarity with value engineering concepts, constructability considerations, and cost-saving opportunities.
  • Experience collaborating with Project Managers, Superintendents, and Operations teams throughout the preconstruction and project lifecycle.
  • Strong communication skills with the ability to participate in internal meetings, trade partner discussions, and client interactions.
  • Proficiency with construction technology and estimating software, including Bluebeam, Procore, Outbuild, NetSuite, or similar platforms.
  • Strong organizational, analytical, and problem-solving skills with a desire to learn and grow within a preconstruction career path.
