Overview
We are actively seeking a seasoned Executive Legal Assistant to serve as the top administrative assistant to the General Counsel at the Louisiana Legislative Auditor (LLA). The Executive Legal Assistant plays a pivotal role in performing a wide range of administrative and clerical tasks independently, exhibiting a commitment to high professional and ethical standards, coupled with meticulous attention to detail. The successful candidate must bring significant experience in the legal arena and demonstrate adaptability to navigate the internal workings of both the LLA and the Legal Section. The Legal Section functions as an in-house law firm, providing legal guidance to external CPAs and public officials. Proficiency in electronic file management is mandatory, as the Executive Legal Assistant maintains primary responsibility for electronic files. In addition to supporting the General Counsel with document management, the candidate will assist in trial preparation, act as a liaison with government/public officials, and participate in cross-utilization of administrative staff. Reporting directly to the General Counsel, this role presents an exciting opportunity for individuals who understand the nuances of legal support within a governmental setting. Following an initial period of employment, the position may offer flexible scheduling. Qualifications
Six (6) years of administrative assistant experience, preferably in a law office, legal department or court setting.
- High school diploma.
- Paralegal experience, preferred.
- Good working knowledge of Microsoft Office Products, including Word, Excel and PowerPoint.
- Excellent written/oral communication skills.
- Superior organizational skills.
