As an Expanded Functions Dental Assistant (EFDA), you will play a key role in providing advanced chair-side assistance while delivering high-quality dental care. This position offers the opportunity to utilize your expanded clinical skills and contribute meaningfully to patient care alongside a supportive dental team.

Responsibilities

• Assist dentists chairside during a wide range of restorative and general dental procedures• Perform expanded functions within the scope of state-specific requirements• Assist with restorative procedures, including placement and contouring of amalgam and composite fillings• Support temporary crown and bridge fabrication and placement• Take accurate dental impressions and assist with preparing study models• Provide orthodontic assistance as needed• Take and process dental X-rays in accordance with state requirements• Prepare, clean, and sterilize instruments and treatment rooms following OSHA and CDC infection control standards• Provide clear patient education regarding treatment, post-operative instructions, and oral hygiene• Maintain detailed and compliant patient records, including accurate charting of procedures and treatment notes• Maintain dental equipment and treatment areas• Organize and restock dental supplies as needed• Collaborate with dentists and the dental team to ensure an exceptional patient experience

Qualifications

• Expanded Functions Dental Assistant certification and compliance with all statespecific requirements (if applicable)• Certification in dental radiography with the ability to take and process X-rays• Knowledge of dental instruments, materials, restorative procedures, and infection control protocols• Strong communication and interpersonal skills• Ability to work effectively in a fast-paced, team-oriented environment• Commitment to providing exceptional patient care
