SAPRO is seeking an experienced Senior In-Charge External Auditor for an exciting international contract with one of our global clients.
This opportunity has two non-negotiable requirements:
- You must hold a valid EU passport, as the successful candidate will be required to travel onsite to Germany and Switzerland for several weeks during the engagement.
- You must have prior external audit experience within the Cannabis industry.
This is a unique opportunity to work on complex IFRS Group Audit engagements while collaborating with international audit teams across Europe.
- Contract Duration: November 2026 to April 2027
- Sector Exposure: Cannabis audit experience non-negotiable
- Software required: CaseWare
- Travel: Onsite travel to Germany and Switzerland for several weeks during the engagement.
- Location: Remote, with international travel as required.
- Language: German language skills are advantageous but not essential.
Senior In-Charge – Minimum Requirements
- ITC / Board 1 Pass (non-negotiable)
- Fully qualified CA(SA), CA(Z), ACA, ACCA or CPA
- Minimum 5+ years' external audit experience
- Minimum 2+ years leading audit teams and managing engagements end-to-end
- Demonstrated external audit experience within the Cannabis industry (non-negotiable)
- Strong Group Audit experience
- Strong IFRS knowledge
- Experience planning audit budgets, resources and managing engagement timelines
- Proven track record reviewing workpapers and delivering high-quality audit files
- Valid EU Passport (non-negotiable), with the ability to travel to Germany and Switzerland for several weeks during the engagement
What you will do:
Provide a broad range of fully integrated audit services for our global clients.
- Provides timely, high-quality deliverables covering complex sections while overseeing fieldwork, coordinating deliverables from multiple team members.
- Demonstrates a depth of knowledge of systems, methodology and can educate and redirect team members.
- Leads the team through the engagement and prepares financial statements, related disclosures, and reportable conditions letters, focusing on quality and accuracy.
- Actively monitors productivity, budgets and ensures adherence to work plan schedule.

- Note:
An EU Passport is a mandatory requirement for this opportunity due to international travel requirements. - Candidates must be available for the full contract period from November 2026 to April 2027.
- Successful applicants are expected to have access to reliable high-speed internet when working remotely. This should be, at minimum, a fibre connection with a proven bandwidth of at least 50 Mbps download and 50 Mbps upload, with a latency not exceeding 30ms. The connection should remain stable during power interruptions.
- Audit experience and alignment to the Senior In-Charge level within SAPRO will be determined based on your audit exposure, technical interview and assessment.
- Working hours will depend on client requirements and may include overlap with the client's business hours.
