About the Role

Experienced Optical Assistant – Monday to Friday

Are you an experienced Optical Assistant looking for a role where you can really take pride in the service you provide?

We’re looking for an experienced Optical Assistant to join our friendly team and play an important role in delivering a genuinely personal, high-quality experience for every patient.

This is a fantastic opportunity for someone who enjoys dispensing, styling and helping patients find the right solution for their individual needs, rather than simply working towards sales targets. With 40-minute to one-hour appointments, you’ll have the time to properly understand your patients, offer thoughtful advice and deliver the level of care you know you’re capable of.

What you’ll be doing

You’ll be involved throughout the patient journey, from the initial frame and lens consultation through to dispensing, fitting, adjustments and aftercare.

You’ll use your experience and product knowledge to:

• Provide expert advice on frames and lenses, taking the patient’s prescription, lifestyle and individual needs into consideration

• Dispense confidently across a range of prescriptions, including more complex requirements

• Help patients choose from a beautiful collection of quality frames, including Gucci, Tom Ford and Lindberg

• Carry out accurate measurements, fittings and adjustments

• Build strong, lasting relationships with patients and provide excellent aftercare

• Work closely with the wider team to ensure every patient receives a smooth and consistent experience

• Support the day-to-day running of the practice, including displays, equipment and general housekeeping

What we’re looking for

We’re looking for someone who already has good experience within optics, ideally with experience dispensing across a range of prescriptions.

You’ll be someone who:

• Genuinely enjoys helping and advising people

• Takes pride in delivering a high standard of patient care

• Has strong dispensing and product knowledge

• Is confident dealing with patients and building relationships

• Has an eye for detail and takes pride in getting things right

• Enjoys being part of a close-knit team

About the practice

We’re a team of 7, working from a welcoming practice with 2 consulting rooms. We pride ourselves on providing a personal, quality-led service and creating an environment where both our patients and our team feel valued.

You’ll have the opportunity to work with some fantastic eyewear, including Gucci, Tom Ford and Lindberg, while developing your dispensing skills within a supportive and collaborative team.
