Experienced Senior Robotics Developer

We at WeQuel are now looking for an experienced Senior Robotics Developer in Södertälje, where you will join an advanced robotics project. You will contribute to the development, integration and testing of robotic systems, covering embedded software, image processing, computer vision, autonomous functions and safety-critical applications.

As a consultant with us, you get the opportunity to work with one of our clients, a leading company within the automotive and heavy vehicle industry. There you will combine hands-on development with technical coordination and help bring complex robotic solutions from concept to validated system.

Your tasks:

• Software development in Python, C++ and Java

• Work in Linux-based development environments with Git

• Development and integration of computer-vision solutions using cameras, image processing, object and person detection, and depth sensing

• Application of robotics fundamentals such as coordinate systems, kinematics, sensors, motion control and system integration

• Development and execution of software and system tests

• Troubleshooting of complex software, hardware and communication problems

• Coordination of development activities, technical priorities and project milestones

• Work with embedded systems and the integration between hardware and software

• Contribution to safety engineering, risk assessment, verification and validation

• Leadership and coordination of a technical team when required

You will work independently while collaborating closely with engineers and project stakeholders.

Requirements:

• Master’s degree in Robotics, Computer Science, Electrical Engineering, Mechatronics or a related field

• At least 10 years of relevant professional experience

• Strong programming skills in Python and C++, as well as experience with Java

• Professional experience with embedded systems

• Experience from computer-vision and image processing projects, including cameras, object/person detection and depth sensing

• Good understanding of coordinate systems, lidar, sensors and control

• Experience of software development, test development, technical coordination and project or team management

• Experience of safety-critical systems, such as autonomous vehicles, trains, aircraft or other regulated systems

• Strong troubleshooting and problem-solving skills

• Ability to work independently, take ownership and deliver agreed milestones

• Good communication and collaboration skills

• Fluent professional English

• Professional proficiency in Swedish

Meritorious:

• Basic knowledge of Chinese
