Extinguisher Technician

Firematic has been protecting those who serve us all for over 50 years! We are looking for a positive, upbeat, self-starter to provide fire extinguisher service to municipal, industrial & commercial accounts throughout Rochester.

WHAT YOU'LL BE DOING:

• Inspection and tagging of fire extinguishers on location and at municipal, industrial
  and commercial accounts
• Transportation of extinguishers, air cylinders and/or oxygen cylinders, needing hydro
  test and/or recharge, to and from our service shop
• Recommend, sell, deliver and install new fire equipment at industrial and commercial
  accounts
• Call on customers to solicit new business
• Inform existing customers of new products and services
• Recharging of fire extinguishers in our shop
• Completion of associated paperwork
• Refill of air cylinders at the firehouse or fire scene on an emergency basis
• Attendance at fire extinguisher and DOT training seminars
• Provide exceptional, polite customer service to walk-in and telephone customers
• Perform onsite inspections to ensure all DOT/NFPA safety codes and standards are met
• Work closely with Extinguisher Service Manager to ensure optimal operations
• Hours Mon- Fri 7:30 to 4:00

WHAT YOU BRING TO THE TABLE:

• Positive can-do attitude a must!
• High School Diploma and two or more years related experience and/or training
• Ability to work overtime as needed (including on call weekend emergency service)
• Must have a clean driving record
• Sales experience preferred
• Ability to regularly lift and/or move up to 50 pounds and occasionally lift and/or move up to 150 pounds.
  

• Hazmat training must be completed and a passing grade must be obtained in a written examination.
