Position Summary
The Fabrication Technician is responsible for manufacturing high-quality components used in Trimax mowers. This role involves cutting, welding, forming, and assembling metal parts according to engineering specifications while maintaining strict safety and quality standards. Key Responsibilities
- Fabricate and assemble mower components using welders, plasma cutters, press brakes, saws, and other fabrication equipment.
- Interpret engineering drawings, blueprints, and work instructions to produce accurate parts.
- Perform MIG welding on mild steel and other materials as required.
- Set up, operate, and maintain fabrication machinery and tooling.
- Inspect and measure finished parts to ensure compliance with quality specifications.
- Work collaboratively with the production team to meet daily output goals.
- Maintain a clean, safe, and organized work area in accordance with company safety policies.
- Identify opportunities to improve fabrication processes and product quality.
- Assist with material handling, including loading/unloading steel, parts, and assemblies.
- Perform basic equipment troubleshooting and report any maintenance needs.
Qualifications
Required:
- Experience in metal fabrication, welding, or mechanical assembly.
- Ability to read and interpret technical drawings and measurements.
- Proficient in MIG welding and basic metalworking techniques.
- Comfortable operating fabrication tools and equipment safely.
- Strong attention to detail and quality.
- Ability to lift 50+ lbs. and stand for long periods.
- Reliable attendance and a strong work ethic.
Preferred:
- Formal welding or fabrication certification.
- Experience in a manufacturing or heavy-equipment environment.
- Forklift certification or material-handling experience.
- Familiarity with lean manufacturing or continuous improvement practices.
