Facilities Maintenance and Operations Technician
Job Summary
Under direct supervision from Cornerstone Chapel’s Director of Facilities, the Maintenance and Operations Technician provides maintenance, repair and improvement of Cornerstone Chapel and CCA’s facilities, grounds, structures equipment, vehicles, and utilities and supports daily school operations. He or she will seek to perform all duties as unto the Lord, relying on the Holy Spirit for guidance, and completing all tasks with excellence.
Minimum Qualifications
Education
- Graduation from High school or General Education Development (GED) Certificate
Experience
- 5+ years of relevant work experience in a commercial property setting
Knowledge, Skills & Abilities
- Competent knowledge of school operations, including maintenance practices/procedures of facility equipment and building systems
- Proficiency with hand and power tools, plumbing, electrical, and carpentry skills.
- Ability to diagnose and resolve maintenance issues effectively.
- Strong organizational and analytical skills
- Able to follow instructions and work both collaboratively and independently
- Strong communicator with excellent verbal and written skills
- Critical thinker who is able to solve problems
- Able to multi-task
- Able to prioritize tasks and manage time effectively to complete work orders and projects
- Knowledge of safety procedures and the ability to work in a safe manner.
- Ability to interact with building occupants in a professional and courteous manner.
Technologies

Physical Capabilities
- Able to walk and stand for prolonged periods
- Able to work both indoors and outdoors in a range of temperatures typical for Virginia
- Able to perform occasional seated desk work at a computer
- Able to crouch, kneel, climb and move / lift up to 50lbs

Work Hours / Travel

Essential Functions
- Establishs communication with school and church operations personnel for reliable support
- Performs repairs and maintenance of building systems and equipment
- Able to use good judgment in making recommendations for improvements
- Skilled in how to respond to emergency situations
- Prepares facility for daily operations
- Supports operation and event requirements
- Cleans and maintains equipment and facilities
- Executes maintenance and repair tasks of all building systems
- Manages supplies inventory
- Interfaces with contractors and vendors
- Supports routine system testing and validation
- Evaluates and monitors areas in need of attention
