Shift: Monday - Friday
Position Summary
Responsible for performing routine safety inspections and building maintenance tasks. Performance of building inspection and maintenance tasks. Perform inspections and reports on issues such as carpentry; electrical; heating, ventilation, and air conditioning (HVAC); plumbing, etc.); Perform general cleaning as needed. Perform other tasks as assigned.
Essential Responsibilities:
- Inspects buildings and other structures to determine functional systems and detect safety issues, malfunctions and needed repair making notes and recommendations using a pre‐established check sheet
- Inspect lighting, replace bulbs
- Inspect and sign off fire extinguishers monthly
- Minor wall repairs and painting area touch up
- Inspect Doors, door Handles, Hydraulic closers, weather stripping
- Inspect Alarm contacts and adjust
- Inspect roll up doors and adjust
- Inspect water flow and drainage
- Performs minor plumbing maintenance (unclogging of drains, replacing drain hoses on washers and similar devices, etc.)
- Actively participate in monthly team safety meetings
- Meet with Contractors, Vendors, City agencies as well and Fire and Police officials
- Maintain required documents, (Work Orders, Safety Inspection Logs)
- Work with Alarm companies on Annual and Semi-Annual system testing
- Update and monitor SDS binders around campus
- Ability to prioritize jobs and requests given
- Ability to use common Hand and Power tools
- Ability to understand and follow directions as given
- Ability to work with minimal supervision
- Performs other work-related duties as assigned
Education/Experience
- High school / Trade School
- Understanding of OHSA safety practices
- Basic working skills in electrical, plumbing, carpentry and drywall
- Clean Driving record
- Demonstrated attention to detail and alertness.
- CPR/AED and First Aid Certification or ability to acquire.
- Proven ability to handle emergencies effectively and calmly.
- Strong communication skills and an ability to remain professional at all times.
- Solid ability with basic computer programs for creating documents.

Physical Requirements
Seeing, color perception, hearing/listening, clear speech, hand and finger dexterity, and ability to move distances within and between warehouses/offices, ability to get to project sites.
Working Environment
Regularly works with others face to face, over the phone and through email. Generally works in an office environment with moderate noise. Nature of work may require working off hours and significant time spent (50%) out of the office. Periodically works outside and may work around moving objects, dust and dirt.
