POSITION SUMMARY:

The New York City Ballet Membership team is seeking an enthusiastic and responsible intern. Under the guidance of a seasoned Membership team member, the individual in this position will gain practical work experience in the areas of development and donor relations.

Internship dates: September - December 2026

Desired time commitment:Approximately 15 hours per week with a flexible schedule, including occasional evenings and weekends as needed. Ability to work both remotely and on-site at the David H. Koch Theater at Lincoln Center. Academic credit also available.

RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Learn how to correspond with donors over the phone, acting as an initial point of contact in Membership office, assisting with annual gift renewals and voicemail inquiries
  • Assist the Membership team with printing and mailing acknowledgment letters, donor ID cards, and premiums
  • Assist with Membership mail and email marketing campaigns
  • Assist with proofing of annual donor welcome packet materials
  • Help maintain the Individual Giving team’s brochure inventory in the theater lobby
  • Support the Membership and Patron Program teams with other administrative support as needed
  • Attend staff meetings and events whenever support is necessary

QUALIFICATIONS:

  • Must have a high level of professionalism and strong attention to detail.
  • Must be a currently enrolled student in an accredited undergraduate or graduate program or have graduated from such a program within the past 12 months.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills
  • Knowledge of Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, etc.) a plus
  • Interest in Development and Arts Administration
  • Knowledge of NYCB a plus

This internship will provide a great opportunity to experience how a Membership and Development department operate within a non-profit performing arts organization. Standard office attire is business casual and formal for special events.
