Flatirons Solutions is looking for an Intern in Process Excellence for our Operational Excellence team at our Chennai, India office office. Are you passionate about driving business performance by using a systematic approach?
The Intern will be part of the Operational Excellence team and report to the Process Excellence Specialist. The OpEx team is responsible for driving effectiveness, efficiency, and compliance throughout the entire company. We don’t tell teams what to do. We are here to help what teams do, better!

Key Responsibilities

We are looking for someone who:
· Has a genuine interest in developing a career in Process Improvement, Quality Management, and/or Operational Excellence
· Has a passion for improving business and process performance
· Has a basic understanding of various standards and methodologies to drive results, such as IS0 9001, Quality, Lean, Kaizen, Six Sigma
· Is happy to assist all departments, functions and team improve effectiveness and efficiency.
· Is prepared to hold others accountable for process compliance across all departments, functions, and teams.
· Is eager to assist the organization in implementing and monitoring the Business/Quality Management System (BMS), the Supplier Management System (SMS), Customer Satisfaction, and continual improvement.
· Has the propensity to adhere to and enforce compliance to policies, procedures, and requirements
· Understands the importance and benefits, and is an advocate of Visual Management
· Prefers to define, collect, report, analyze, and act upon key performance indicators (KPI) for the BMS and SMS
· Is undeterred by tedious or repetitive tasks like running reports or following up on pending or open items.
· Has good verbal and written communication skills.
· Is self-motivated and operates with a high level on integrity




Skills, Knowledge & Expertise

What you need to know (experience requirements):
· A bachelor’s degree or pursuing a final year degree in Engineering or Business, Quality Management, Quality Assurance
· Basic understanding of the ISO 9001 standard
· Basic understanding of continual improvement tools such as:
o Lean
o Six Sigma
o Voice of the Customer
o Visual Management
· Good understanding of and experience with the features of Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Outlook) and other web-based applications

What will set you apart:
· Knowledge of Agile or SAFe
· Knowledge of Information Security such as the ISO 27001 standard
· Knowledge of Capability Maturity Model Integration (CMMI)
· Knowledge of Net Promoter Score
