Field Geologist - Regional Exploration

Rosebel Gold Mines is seeking a Junior Geologist to join our Regional Exploration department. As a Junior Geologist, you will play a crucial role in supporting our geological exploration and data analysis efforts. In this role, you will work closely with senior geologists to collect and interpret geological data, conduct field surveys, and assist in the development of geological models. You will also be responsible for preparing reports and presentations based on your findings. The ideal candidate will have a passion for geology, strong analytical skills, and the ability to work effectively in a team environment.

Your key responsibilities will include:

1. Support senior geologists in planning and executing geological exploration activities, including mapping, sampling, and drilling programs.

2. Collect, record, and interpret geological and geochemical data from field surveys and core logging.

3. Assist in the development, interpretation, and updating of geological models.

4. Analyze exploration results and contribute to technical reports, maps, and presentations.

5. Maintain data accuracy and proper documentation in geological databases.

Requirements

The ideal candidate will have:

• A Bachelor’s degree in Geology or a related field.

• Minimum of 1 year of relevant work experience.

• Strong knowledge of geological mapping, sampling techniques, and data analysis.

• Excellent problem-solving and analytical thinking skills.

• Ability to adapt to changing operational priorities and field conditions.

• Willingness to work in Brokopondo on a rotational schedule of 14 days of work followed by 7 days break

• Good communication and interpersonal skills in Dutch and English.

• If selected, you will be required to submit a Police Clearance Certificate (“Bewijs van Goed Gedrag”). Please initiate the request at your respective District Commissariat.
