Financial Accounting Specialist (Temporary Position)

We are now looking for a Financial Accounting Specialist to join our Finance team in Barcelona or Frankfurt on a ** temporary basis **.

Tasks

Your responsibilities

• Manage and monitor ongoing accounting activities in accordance with **local GAAP and IFRS **, contributing to the development and optimisation of accounting processes across areas such as ** Accounts Payable, Accounts Receivable, Fixed Assets, General Ledger and bank accounting **.
• Advise on and support the resolution of complex tax matters in close cooperation with external tax advisors, while contributing to the preparation and optimisation of the tax strategy.
• Prepare and review tax returns and support the implementation of tax optimisation measures.
• Manage and further develop accounting processes across different business areas, including **retail, wholesale, leasing, deposits and cooperation markets **, ensuring the implementation of new accounting standards and technologies.
• Monitor and control the **end-to-end invoicing process **, ensuring accuracy and efficiency.
• Support bank-wide project controlling and contribute to the successful implementation of finance-related projects.
• Analyse, review and continuously improve internal processes, identifying opportunities to increase efficiency and minimise risks.
• Lead and participate in cross-functional projects aimed at optimising Finance and Accounting processes and supporting the company's strategic objectives.

Requirements

What we're looking for

• University degree or equivalent higher education qualification in **Business Administration, Finance or a related field **.
• Previous professional experience in **Accounting **, ideally within the banking or financial services sector.
• Solid knowledge of **accounting, financial reporting and tax legislation **.
• Good knowledge of **MS Office **, particularly Excel.
• Good written and spoken **English **; ** Spanish and German are desirable **.
• SAP knowledge is a plus.
• Experience in financing and leasing is desirable.
• Knowledge of Hyperion Financial Reporting is desirable.
