Financial Controller - iGaming B2C

This is a brilliant opportunity to take the lead for a multi-jurisdictional iGaming Operator, with all entities using the IFRS (Mainly IFRS 9 & 15) regardless of GEO.

Reporting directly to the CEO, you will be the most senior accounting professional in the company, with two accountants reporting in to you; one at the office in Malta, where you will be working, and one who manages the accounting for a different group entity.

The role is offered on an "office first" basis with one day hybrid weekly, and pays a salary of around €65-70K.

As the leader of the Finance Team, our client insists on the right person for the role having 2+ years' experience of working with Financial Reporting for iGaming B2C in Malta.

Role & Reposnsibilities

• Take full responsibility for the accounting function for the group of companies

• Act as a key finance point of contact for the group of companies

• Manage & Mentor(currently but growing) 2 accountants to create a collaborarive team culture, driving strong performance

• Budgeting, forecasting, FP & A

• Treasury; monitor cash flow, working capital, and liquidity to support operational efficiency

• Tax & regulatory compliance for the finance function

• Monthly, Qarterly & Annual P'n'L, Management Accounts

• Maintain strong internal controls and ensure compliance with financial regulations across operating jurisdictions

• Liaise with legal and compliance teams on financial matters related to licensing & other regulatory requirements

• Risk Management

• Provide financial insights and recommendations to support operational and strategic decisions

• Support automation and digital improvements within the finance function to enhance scalability and accuracy

Education, Skille & Experience

• Qualified accountant (MSc or ACCA) from a recognized European institution

• 2+ years' experience of working with Financial Reporting for iGaming B2C in Malta

• Proven experience of leading a team as Finance Manager / Head of / Financial Controller

• Excellent communication skills in English, both written and spoken

• Experienced with FP & A, budgeting, forecasting, and management reporting

• Proven track record managing end-to-end financial operations incl payroll

• Solid experience in cash flow management, working capital optimisation, and financial performance monitoring

• Excellent understanding of financial regulations, tax compliance, reporting standards, and audit processes

• Experience working within regulated environments; exposure to iGaming regulations and AML requirements is a requirement

• Strong communication & reporting skills with the ability to present financial insights clearly to senior stakeholders
