About this role
The Total Group of Companies is looking for a Fire Alarm Technician to join our team of fire & life safety professionals! This role will be focused on delivering inspections, troubleshooting and repairs on new and existing fire alarm systems.
Under the direct supervision of the Sr. Fire Alarm Technician, daily task and activities include but are not limited to:
· Inspection, service and troubleshooting of existing fire alarm systems
· Perform upgrades, repairs, additions and improvements to systems following inspection
· Respond to service calls as required
· Identify fire code compliance solutions
· Prepare detailed inspection, verification and deficiency reports
· Maintain company equipment and vehicles
· Perform scheduled inspections for safety compliance

Requirements
To be considered for this role, you must meet the following criteria:
· Authorized to work in Canada, and possess a valid SIN
· Have a valid Drivers License with minimum of 3 years of driving experience, AND be able to produce a satisfactory drivers abstract
· Willing to travel as required and work after hours/weekends as needed
· Willing to participate in a rotating on-call schedule
· Ability to possess standard oilfield and safety training tickets as they relate to your job
To be selected for this role, you MUST have the following certifications:
· Minimum of 1 year experience in a related role
· CFAA Certified or Journeyman Electrician status
· Knowledge of CAN/ULC standards as they apply
· Experience programming fire alarm panels
· Understanding of design drawings
· Strong technical skills and strong knowledge of fire alarm systems design and construction
· Demonstrated ability to manage projects and communicate with clients, authorities, and contractor.
