About this role

Royal Ocean Marine is seeking a qualified and experienced Fire Safety Manager for our client based in Malaysia to lead and manage all aspects of fire safety. The successful candidate will be responsible for developing and implementing comprehensive fire safety policies, coordinating fire safety training, and ensuring compliance with all relevant fire safety regulations and standards.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Develop, implement, and maintain fire safety programs and procedures tailored to maritime and offshore environments.
  • Conduct fire risk assessments and safety audits to identify hazards and ensure compliance with local and international regulations.
  • Oversee fire drills, emergency response plans, and training for crew and personnel.
  • Investigate fire incidents and near misses, prepare detailed reports, and recommend corrective actions to prevent recurrence.
  • Collaborate with regulatory authorities, classification societies, and emergency services to ensure fire safety standards are met.
  • Manage and maintain fire safety equipment and systems onboard vessels and at shore facilities.
  • Promote a strong culture of fire safety awareness across all levels of the organization.

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree in Fire Safety, Engineering, Marine Safety, or related discipline.
  • Minimum 7 years of experience in fire safety management, especially in commercial buildings.
  • In-depth knowledge of fire safety regulations and codes applicable in Malaysia and internationally.
  • Strong leadership and communication skills to effectively manage fire safety teams and training programs.
  • Relevant certifications such as NEBOSH Fire Safety, IFE, or equivalent are highly desirable.
  • Ability to conduct thorough fire risk assessments and investigations.
  • Proficient in developing and implementing fire safety procedures and emergency response plans.
  • Willingness to travel and work onsite as required.
