Fixed Income Trader

Overview

The Global Fixed Income team is seeking a fixed income trader to support trading activities across investment grade corporate credit and structured products. The role offers broad exposure to both primary and secondary markets and provides an opportunity to develop expertise across corporate bonds, asset-backed securities, mortgage-backed securities, commercial mortgage-backed securities, and other securitized products.

Working closely with portfolio managers, traders, analysts, and risk professionals, the fixed income trader will help source liquidity, evaluate relative value opportunities, support trade execution, and contribute to ongoing process improvements across the trading platform while maintaining strong risk management and best execution practices.

This position is ideal for a highly motivated individual seeking to build a long-term career in fixed income trading and portfolio management.

We currently operate in a hybrid working model, whereby you will be required to work in-office 4 days per week.

Responsibilities

• Support the execution of fixed income trades across various sectors, including investment grade credit, securitized products, and government securities in both primary and secondary markets.
• Monitor market activity, pricing, liquidity conditions, and economic developments affecting fixed income markets.
• Utilize electronic trading platforms, Bloomberg, and other market systems to facilitate trade execution and market analysis.
• Assist in trade allocation, order management, and post-trade monitoring processes.
• Conduct transaction cost analysis and contribute to best execution reviews.
• Support portfolio implementation activities and collaborate with portfolio managers to ensure timely execution of investment decisions.
• Develop relationships with broker-dealers and market participants.
• Contribute to projects focused on automation, workflow improvement, and technology adoption within the trading function.

Qualifications

Required Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Finance, Economics, Mathematics, Statistics, Engineering, or a related quantitative discipline.
• 1-3 years of experience in trading, investments, capital markets, or a related financial services role.

Preferred Qualifications

• Knowledge of fixed income markets, products, and investment concepts.
• Progress toward the CFA designation, or a demonstrated commitment to pursuing the CFA Charter, is preferred.
• Strong communication skills and ability to work effectively in a collaborative team environment.
• Intellectual curiosity, attention to detail, and a desire to continuously improve processes and outcomes.

Compensation

Base Pay Range: $90,000 - $110,000

Actual base salary may vary based upon, but not limited to, relevant experience, time in role, base salary internal peers, prior performance, business sector, and geographic location.  In addition to base salary, the competitive compensation package may include, depending on the role, participation in an incentive program linked to performance (for example, annual discretionary bonus programs, or other annual or non-annual incentive or sales plans.)
