Fleet Coordinator – Atlantic Road Construction & Paving

Atlantic Road Construction & Paving is a well established heavy civil construction company specializing in mass excavation, drilling & blasting, pipe & underground utility placement, concrete placement and asphalt paving. We are currently looking to hire a self-motivated and detail-oriented Fleet Coordinator to join our team. Reporting to the Transportation Manager, The Fleet Coordinator will provide accurate and timely reports pertaining to ARCP fleet and equipment while working directly with the ARCP drivers and vehicles to help coordinate and ensure smooth day-to-day operations.

Requirements:

  • Post-secondary education in business, administration, or logistics, or equivalent relevant work experience.
  • Comfortable using technology – Microsoft Office Suite, internal software programs and apps.
  • Strong interpersonal skillset with the ability to work well with various personalities.
  • Organized, detail oriented, ability to meet deadlines.
  • Must be reliable and punctual.
  • Basic mechanical aptitude an asset.
  • Experience in the heavy civil construction or trucking industry an asset.
  • Valid class 5 Drivers License required, Class 1 or 3 Drivers license considered an asset.

Duties and Responsibilities:

  • Record, file, and report on various functions within our transportation and operations departments.
  • Track and schedule fleet maintenance and emergency repairs. Coordinate appointments with repair shops and oversee vehicle delivery logistics.
  • Oversee fleet maintenance and cleanliness
  • Ensure accurate and timely completion of pre-trip inspections daily.
  • Keep accurate records of employee attendance.
  • Actively monitor the company fleet as well as subcontracted drivers throughout the day.
  • Ensure truck departures are on schedule each morning.
  • Coordinate replacement drivers, vehicles and alternate plans as required, ensuring active communication with all parties affected by changes.
  • Assist drivers with minor repairs on vehicles as needed (mudflaps, lights).
  • Assisting with dispatching as required
  • Install, troubleshoot and monitor GPS system.
  • Other duties as required
