Job Summary: The Foreman supervises the construction crew to ensure that Morris-Shea Bridge Company produces a safely performed, technically appropriate, and cost effective project. The Foreman will have copies of and be fully knowledgeable of the project specifications for project. The Foreman must always possess the most recently issued numbered pile drawings and the reinforcing steel details by pile type. The Foreman is also responsible for ensuring that his crew's equipment is operated, fueled, greased, cleaned, and maintained properly.
Key Responsibilities:
- Possesses two years’ experience. Possesses knowledge of work performed.
- Supervises subordinates, subcontractors, and crew operations to ensure all are conducted to high standards that meet or exceed project requirements and client expectations.
- Ensures compliance with Morris-Shea policies and procedures.
- Develops a working understanding of plans, specifications, permits and other jobsite requirements and constraints, and ensure all subordinates understand their responsibilities for executing same.
- Oversees maintenance, care, and inventory of all equipment, including availability of supplies and spare parts.
- Ensures all training needs are met and current for all subordinates.
- Participates in planning of operations with the Operations Manager, Project Manager, Senior Superintendent, Superintendent, and Engineer.
- Participates in project start-up and progress meetings.
- Conducts and/or monitors all safety meetings and oversees site operations to ensure safe conditions prevail.
- Trains and develops the work crews.
- Conducts overnight travel throughout the United States to the project site.
Qualifications:
The Foreman shall have a minimum of two (2) years supervising projects of similar size and technical difficulty. High School Degree/General Equivalency Degree is required. The Foreman shall have adequate skills to understand the plans and specifications, means and methods of construction and reporting. The Foreman will be proficient in MS Office and must also possess the ability to utilize software programs, databases, and templates to process, distribute, and track all project documentation. The Foreman must possess strong written and verbal communication skills and be self-motivated with the ability to work independently and as part of a team.
