Forward Deployed Engineer

About the Role

Join a small engineering team building software to streamline healthcare payer compliance for provider practices. You will work directly with clients and the founding team to turn complex workflows into integrations and product improvements that help practices operate more efficiently.

What You'll Do

• Build and maintain integrations with provider practices and insurance systems using APIs, web scrapers, or RPA as needed.

• Join client discovery sessions to map workflows and translate needs into technical requirements.

• Ship custom integrations quickly and iterate based on feedback from real-world use.

• Contribute to the core product when integration work is not the primary bottleneck.

• Build working knowledge of the US provider and payer landscape.

What We're Looking For

• Two to five years of full-stack engineering experience building and shipping software, with experience owning features from discovery through delivery.

• Startup experience in a small team, with broad ownership and comfort working through ambiguity.

• Experience integrating third-party APIs and actively using AI coding tools such as Claude Code or Cursor on production work.

• Proficiency in Python and FastAPI or an equivalent backend framework, plus React and TypeScript or equivalent frontend technologies.

• Clear communication skills and the ability to explain technical tradeoffs to non-technical audiences.

• Experience with web scraping or RPA, US healthcare systems, AWS or GCP, or production LLM applications is a plus.

Compensation & Benefits

Annual salary range: $150,000 to $230,000 USD. Visa sponsorship is not available.

Location

Hybrid role based in New York City, New York, United States. The position includes in-person team or client meetings as needed and some travel.
