Front End Developer | React.js

December 2016. We are on a mission to make insurance simple, easy and affordable. We are the 1st home-grown InsurTech being awarded the financial adviser approval by Bank Negara Malaysia.

With the founding team’s 50 years’ collective experience in various industries, we are building Malaysia’s first hybrid insurance marketplace whereby Malaysian consumers can make meaningful comparisons of all insurance products available in the market, and make informed purchases within a click and require our expert advisory services for more complex and group insurance products.

In this role, you will be responsible for developing and implementing user interface components using React.js concepts and workflows such as state management, class based components, and Webpack.

You will also be responsible for profiling and improving front-end performance and documenting our front-end codebase. To ensure success as a React.js Developer, you should have in-depth knowledge of JavaScript and React concepts, excellent front-end coding skills, and a good understanding of progressive web applications.

Qualifications

• Crafting a highly scalable and mobile optimised web application component base on micro service architecture
• Develop new or enhance existing features for user interface
• Assure that all user input is validated before submitting to back-end
• Perform internal user development interviews to get better understanding of their needs and get feedback on new features and designs
• Ensure the technical feasibility of UX/UI design and implementation
• Monitoring and improving front-end performance.
• Documenting application changes and developing updates.

Additional Information

• At least 2 years experience in a startup environment
• Have a natural knack for mobile-optimised design and UI/UX
• Battle-tested experience engineering responsive web apps using ReactJS
• Have a sharp sword slicing intuition for design/UX with corresponding Javascript and CSS skills
• Basic knowledge of image authoring tools, to be able to crop, resize, or perform small adjustments on an image. Familiar with Photoshop
• Good understanding of SEO principles and ensuring that application will adhere to them
