ROLE SUMMARY

The Frontend Engineer is responsible for designing, developing, and maintaining user-facing web and mobile-responsive applications that deliver exceptional customer experiences across the Paymi Solutions Limited digital products. The role focuses on building scalable, secure, high-performance interfaces that support Paymi Solutions Limited services while ensuring seamless integration with backend systems, regulatory compliance, and industry best practices

The Frontend Engineer builds Paymi Solutions Limited's web and dashboard interfaces, delivering intuitive, performant and secure user experiences.

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES

• Design, build and maintain responsive, accessible web interfaces.
• Translate UI/UX designs into high-quality, reusable frontend components.
• Integrate frontend applications with backend APIs.
• Participate in code review, sprint planning and technical discussions.
• Optimize application performance and cross-browser compatibility.
• Implement frontend security best practices (input validation, XSS/CSRF protection).
• Monitor and improve application performance through profiling, optimization, and code refactoring.
• Troubleshoot, diagnose, and resolve user interface issues and application bugs.
• Conduct code reviews and maintain coding standards across development teams
• Participate actively in Agile ceremonies including sprint planning, backlog refinement, stand-ups, and retrospectives.
• Collaborate with QA teams to develop automated and manual testing strategies.
• Ensure secure handling of customer and payment-related data across user interfaces.
• Implement secure authentication and authorization controls in collaboration with backend teams.
• Work closely with Product and Design teams to enhance user experience and customer engagement.
• Participate in architecture discussions and contribute to frontend technology decisions.

Qualifications

EDUCATIONAL QUALIFICATIONS

• Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Software Engineering, or a related field (required).

EXPERIENCE REQUIREMENTS

Total Relevant Experience: Engineer Level I: 3–5 years;

Fintech / Financial Services Experience: 3+ years building frontend applications in fintech or a regulated environment preferred

SKILLS & COMPETENCIES

• Strong proficiency in JavaScript/TypeScript and a modern framework (React/Vue/Angular)
• Experience consuming REST/GraphQL APIs
• Understanding of web-security best practices (XSS, CSRF, CSP)
• Attention to UI/UX detail and cross-browser performance
• Understanding of micro frontend architecture and component-driven development.
• Familiarity with cloud-based application deployment environments.
• Excellent communication and stakeholder engagement abilities.
• Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
• Strong teamwork and cross-functional collaboration skills.

REGULATORY CONSIDERATIONS (NIGERIA)

• Implements frontend controls supporting PCI-DSS and secure handling of sensitive input fields.
• Ensures consent flows and data collection UI comply with the Nigeria Data Protection Act (NDPA) 2023.
