Full Stack Developer

This position is listed on behalf of a partner company, who manages all applications and next steps. Our partner is looking for a Full Stack Developer based in the United States.

We are seeking an experienced Full Stack Developer to lead the design, development, and deployment of secure, scalable, and client-focused software solutions. This role combines full-stack engineering expertise with a strong emphasis on backend architecture, cloud technologies, and application reliability. You will transform early-stage concepts into production-ready products while supporting complex projects across aviation, transportation, aerospace, federal, and health and science sectors. Working alongside multidisciplinary teams, you will build applications, integrations, and automation tools that address real-world operational challenges. You will also establish development standards, guide technical decisions, and introduce modern approaches involving low-code platforms and generative AI. As a senior technical expert, you will oversee software development initiatives from initial concept through production deployment, ensuring solutions meet business objectives, technical requirements, and client expectations. Your responsibilities will include:

• Lead the full software development lifecycle for digital products, from requirements gathering and architecture to development, testing, deployment, and transition to ongoing product support.

• Define project scope, estimate levels of effort, and determine technical approaches for client engagements, internal initiatives, and business development opportunities.

• Design, develop, and maintain scalable full-stack applications, with a strong focus on backend engineering, system reliability, and long-term maintainability.

• Transform manual workflows into automated and agentic processes using custom software, low-code platforms, and generative AI technologies.

• Establish software development standards, tools, version control practices, CI/CD pipelines, automated testing procedures, documentation, and release management processes.

• Determine when to leverage low-code and no-code solutions, including Microsoft Power Platform and Power Automate, and when custom development is more appropriate.

• Build and integrate APIs and connect applications with diverse data sources, including PDFs, spreadsheets, data lakes, IoT sensor feeds, point-cloud surveys, and BIM models.

• Deploy applications across multiple client-hosted production environments while addressing different infrastructure constraints, security requirements, and release procedures.

• Implement secure development practices covering authentication, authorization, encryption, vulnerability scanning, and dependency management.

• Evaluate emerging technologies, development tools, and platforms based on cost, scalability, support requirements, and long-term sustainability.

• Translate business challenges and operational needs into technical requirements, system architectures, and actionable development plans.

• Document architectural decisions, communicate technical trade-offs, and provide technical direction, code reviews, and guidance to project teams and junior developers.

• Develop reusable components, technical playbooks, and documentation to improve development efficiency and support future projects.

• Assess solution maturity and determine when prototypes and early-stage concepts are ready for production and commercial deployment.

Requirements:

The ideal candidate combines extensive software engineering experience with strong architectural judgment, practical problem-solving abilities, and the communication skills needed to collaborate with technical and non-technical stakeholders. The following qualifications are expected:

• Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Software Engineering, or a related technical discipline with at least 10 years of relevant experience, or a Master's degree with at least 5 years of experience.

• At least 5 years of experience in architecture and engineering, professional services consulting, or a comparable environment developing operational or client-facing software solutions.

• Proven experience managing the complete software development lifecycle, from concept definition and requirements gathering to architecture, development, testing, and production launch.

• Strong full-stack development skills using C#, .NET, Python, JavaScript, and TypeScript.

• Experience with modern front-end frameworks such as React, Angular, or Vue.js.

• Solid knowledge of backend engineering, database architecture, and data management across SQL Server, PostgreSQL, and NoSQL platforms.

• Experience designing and deploying cloud-native applications using Azure, AWS, or Google Cloud Platform, including containerization and serverless architectures.

• Proficiency in API design, systems integration, and connecting applications to complex data environments.

• Experience implementing secure software development practices, including authentication, authorization, encryption, vulnerability scanning, and dependency management.

• Demonstrated ability to establish and improve software development practices, including source control, CI/CD, automated testing, build pipelines, and release management.

• Familiarity with Microsoft Power Platform, Power Automate, and the integration of large language models and generative AI into software solutions.

• Ability to translate complex business requirements into technical specifications and scalable system architectures.

• Strong communication, collaboration, and problem-solving skills, with the ability to explain technical decisions and trade-offs to non-technical stakeholders.

• Experience providing technical leadership, conducting code reviews, and mentoring junior team members without direct people-management responsibilities.

• Ability to exercise sound technical judgment when selecting development tools, platforms, and implementation approaches.

Preferred Qualifications:

• Master's degree in Computer Science, Software Engineering, or another relevant technical discipline.

• Experience developing custom plugins and extensions for Autodesk products such as Revit and Civil 3D, Bentley platforms, or comparable design software APIs.

• Familiarity with transportation, aviation, aerospace, or infrastructure systems, including Intelligent Transportation Systems (ITS), Transportation Systems Management and Operations (TSM&O), or digital twins.

• Experience integrating Building Information Modeling (BIM) and design models with real-time operational data.

• Background in productizing prototypes and delivering commercial software solutions, including SaaS platforms and reusable software products.

• Relevant certifications in cloud computing, software development, architecture, or cybersecurity.

• Candidates must be permanently authorized to work in the United States. Visa sponsorship and visa transfers are not available for this position.
