Responsibilities

• Build and maintain backend services using FastAPI, Python, and async patterns.

• Design and improve LLM-driven pipeline steps for classification, matching, risk assessment, synthesis, and draft generation.

• Implement robust structured-output validation, retries, and error handling for model calls.

• Optimize semantic search using PostgreSQL and pgvector for high-quality legal precedent retrieval.

• Extend data models and Alembic migrations with backward-compatible schema changes.

• Build and enhance frontend workflows in React and TypeScript (dashboard, document browser, extraction review, defense generation).

• Integrate real-time progress updates via WebSockets.

• Maintain secure authentication and authorization with Keycloak, OIDC, and JWT.

• Add tests for backend and frontend features and support CI quality gates.

• Improve observability with tracing, structured logging, and operational dashboards.

Qualifications

• 5+ years of software engineering experience in production systems.

• Strong Python backend development experience (FastAPI or equivalent async framework).

• Solid PostgreSQL skills, including schema design and query optimization.

• Hands-on experience integrating LLM APIs (OpenAI/Azure OpenAI/Anthropic or similar).

• Experience with semantic search/vector retrieval (pgvector, Pinecone, Weaviate, or similar).

• 3+ years of React + TypeScript development.

• Practical experience with OAuth/OIDC/JWT authentication flows.

• Testing discipline (unit, integration, and API testing).

Nice to have

• Experience with Azure services (OpenAI, Document Intelligence, PostgreSQL, Container Apps).

• Experience with Docker, Docker Compose, and CI/CD pipelines.

• Knowledge of legal-tech, financial services, or compliance-heavy domains.

• Familiarity with observability stacks (OpenTelemetry, structured logging, monitoring dashboards).
