Full-Stack Software Engineer

Adtran is looking for an outstandingFull-StackSoftware Engineerto work onthenew SDOController Web UIandMosaicNetwork Controller Web UIprojects. These applications are used bynetwork operators to manage their networks built upon Optical Transport devices. 

The successful candidate willbe responsible fordesigning, developing, and continually improving our productsusingnew technologiesand best agile practices, and will work closely with other engineers and stakeholders to ensure the product meets the needs of our customers. 

The  SoftwareEngineer will bethefirstengineer in the teamresponsible forfull-stackdevelopmentandthe onlyengineerresponsible forGUIdevelopment. Other teams withinthe organization already include engineers working on full-stack development.

DutiesandResponsibilities

• The primary responsibility will be developingfront-endand some back-end featuresfortheSDOController and MosaicNetwork Controller product

• Design and implement new product features using React,Javaand Spring technologies

• Design orassistindesignnewfeatures for theSDO controllerproduct

• Developanenhancementsforexisting software

• Contribute to feasibility studies of needed software development

• Document the design includingfeaturesdefinition and architecture

• Participate in design reviews and code reviews

• Develop unit and component-level tests forimplemented software modules and enhancements

• Coordinate development activities across teams while meeting project schedules

• Fix software bugs found during all testing phases

• Work with the team to deploy and test incremental software releases

BasicQualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in computer science, Computer Engineering, Software Engineering, Computer Information Science, Electrical Engineering, or equivalent educationrequired

• At least 4 years ofprofessionalexperienceas aFront-endorFull-stackDeveloper

• A solid foundation in computer science, with strong competencies in data structures, algorithms, and software engineering

• At least 2 years of experience developing React-based applications

• Experience with JavaScript/TypeScriptand Node.js

• Experience with Reacttest frameworks(Jestor similar) 

• Experiencedeveloping UI components using Storybookand collaborating with UX designers usingFigma or equivalent tools

• Programming skills in Java (good knowledgeofJava 8+, in project we use Java 25)

• Knowledge of softwareconstructiontechniques

• Knowledge of object-oriented design principles and design patterns

• Knowledge of Linux system

• ExperiencewithJUnit

• Experience designing and consuming REST APIs.

• Knowledge of relational databases and SQL

• Experiencewith SpringFramework / Spring Boot

• Excellentteamworkabilities. 

• Work experience with version control systems (Git).

• At least B1 Englishproficiencylevel. 

PreferredQualifications

• Experience with developing and deploying large scale interactive React based applications

• Experience with testing tools such asJest,Cypress Selenium 

• Strong focus on assuring code quality
