Fullstack Engineer (Services)

Founded in Berlin, autarc is a ~75 person start-up who were part of Y Combinator's S24 batch in San Francisco. Our team consists of people in Sales, Tech and Operations, with the Engineering & Product department currently ~25 people, as we continue to grow throughout the year.

Role description

You'll join a new squad focused our fastest-growing product area: Services. On top of their monthly subscription, our customers can book additional services through autarc — such as government subsidy applications (e.g. KfW), energy performance certificates, and more. This area is scaling rapidly and we're hiring dedicated engineering capacity to match.

Your job is to build and ship new services fast. That means new service types, new country rollouts (such as Italy and the UK), and new workflows — often from zero to live in days, not weeks. We expect you to go all-in on AI-assisted development (Claude, Cursor, Copilot) to move at a pace that traditional engineering can't match.

Other things you'll do will include:

• Build and ship end-to-end service workflows
• Expand our service offering into new European markets, adapting to local regulations and requirements
• Ship polished React UIs and interaction-heavy workflows with strong UX
• Integrate AI models (Anthropic, OpenAI) to automate service fulfilment like document generation, form pre-filling, validation
• Build APIs that connect service data across systems and workflows
• Partner closely with Design and Product to deliver features at speed

The technologies you will use include:

• TypeScript, React, Three.js
• Go, Node/NestJS, Postgres
• Electric SQL, RxDB, local-first sync patterns
• Docker, Fly.io, NATS

This is a Fullstack role with a 70/30 split between Frontend and Backend.

Requirements

Requirements:

• 2-4 years for Mid-level or 5+ years for Senior of professional software experience
• Strong React + TypeScript and UX craftsmanship
• Backend experience with APIs, data modelling, and SQL databases
• Comfortable shipping Fullstack features end-to-end
• Already using AI tools (Claude, Cursor, Copilot) in your daily workflow, not just experimenting
• Berlin-based, hybrid 3 days in the office (Mitte)
• Fluent in English (German is a plus)
