About this role
The Job
Curie builds products at the intersection of elite engineering and user-centric design. They need someone who can own features end-to-end, from pixel-perfect frontend to working backend.
What you'll actually do:
Ship frontend-heavy features in SvelteKit/Tailwind with obsessive attention to UI/UX quality
Build backend features independently (NodeJS, Postgres, Fastify, queues) — you won't need someone to hold your hand
Work in a high-autonomy environment: no code reviews unless you ask, no micromanagement, no gates
Collaborate with senior team members in constant, direct communication
Ship. Fast. With leverage.
The Stack
FE: SvelteKit, Tailwind, DaisyUI, Playwright. Architecture patterns: DDD & CQRS
BE: NodeJS, Postgres, Fastify, queues
ML components: Python
The tools aren't sacred. What matters is delivery, not the framework you used.
What You Need (Non-Negotiables)
5+ years fullstack experience shipping products that real users touch
Expert-level TypeScript
You've shipped 0→1 products at high-growth or early-stage startups
End-to-end feature ownership (frontend + backend) is your default mode
Deep resilience under pressure — bugs, crises, tight deadlines. You don't crack
Elite communication: set expectations, deliver, no surprises
Thrive in ambiguity. Self-manage. No manager needed
No ego. Results > process
Nice to have: Ex-founder, Tailwind/DaisyUI/Playwright experience, CQRS/queues familiarity, Python for ML/AI, AI-first product development exposure
What You Don't Need
Corporate hierarchy experience
Large enterprise background
Someone telling you what to do
Structure, predictability, or work-life balance policies
Compensation
Competitive base salary
Equity as part of compensation
Profit share for core team members
Unlimited PTO — use your judgement, don't track days
The Process
Recruiter screening — fit and motivation check
1-on-1 with Simon (senior team member) — culture and team alignment
Technical challenge (~4 hours, open book) — use AI, Google, whatever. We care about the result, not how you got there
Contract offer — one-month trial period, then extend to full-time
Apply If
You thrive on ownership, not approval
You're hungry to build, not manage
You want real impact at a well-funded startup scaling fast
You live in or can get to Warsaw
Don't apply if: You need managers, structure, predictability, or a traditional corporate environment. Those people won't last here.
