Gallery Director

NOW HIRING: VVAC Gallery Director (part time)

JOB SUMMARY: The Gallery Director is responsible for the daily operations and programming of the gallery at the Vogt Visual Arts Center (VVAC). This position coordinates monthly and annual art exhibitions and receptions, including artwork acquisition, installation, removal, and return; schedules and supervises Gallery Attendants; manages consignment and artwork sales; and assists patrons, instructors, and visitors. The Gallery Director also supports VVAC special events and rentals, maintains relationships with local artists, collectors, businesses, and community partners, and serves as a liaison between gallery staff, instructors, and the Park District. The position requires flexibility to install exhibitions during off-hours and the ability to maintain an organized, welcoming, and professional gallery environment.

LOCATION: Vogt Visual Art Center, a facility of the Tinley Park-Park District, 17420 67th Court, Tinley Park

QUALIFICATIONS: Minimum of a high school diploma or equivalent is required, along with experience working with art-related programs, exhibitions, or activities. An Associate’s Degree in Art or a related field is preferred. Current CPR certification or ability to gain CPR certification is required within six (6) months of hire.

INCENTIVES: This is a year-round, part-time position averaging 15 - 20 hours per week, IMRF qualification potential. Pay range is $17.00 to $21.25 per hour and qualifies for a complementary membership to the Fitness Center, Recreation Center, Water Park, and Dog Park. Flexible work hours are preferred.
