We are recruiting a Gardener to perform gardening and grounds maintenance functions at the Insurance Corporation of Barbados Limited. This position will report to the Facilities Manager or designate. The position is at the level of Grade 7 in the Company’s compensation structure.
Main Areas of Responsibility
- Operates tools and equipment safely, ensuring work areas and walkways remain clean, safe and free from obstructions.
- Cleans and maintains drains in accordance with the ICBL's Green Business policies and practices.
- Waters and maintains lawns, plants, shrubs, trees and landscaped areas, when necessary.
- Prunes and trims designated hedges, shrubs, trees and flowering plants as required.
- Cleans and washes Company vehicles.
- Ensures all tools and equipment are clean, secure and in good working condition.
- Reports defects in tools and equipment promptly.
- Pressure washes walkways, parking areas, balconies, lunch areas and other designated surfaces as required.
- Moves, lifts and relocates supplies, furniture and office equipment as required.
- Maintains positive working relationships with employees, clients, contractors and the public.
- Paints and maintains traffic and parking lot markings as required.
- Assists the Facilities Technician as required.
- Cleans windows, balconies and other relevant designated areas.
- Cleans and maintains the garbage and recycling areas.
- Performs other related duties as assigned and necessary for the development of the Insurance Corporation of Barbados Limited.
Qualifications, Experience and Skills:
- Four (4) CXC General or ‘O’ Level certificates.
- At least six months’ work experience in a similar capacity.
- Must have a valid Police Certificate of Character.
- Holder of driver's license (Class B, C1)
Compensation
A competitive remuneration package will be offered in accordance with qualifications and experience.
