• Process guest payments accurately using the point-of-sale (POS) system for room charges, restaurant bills, and retail purchases
• Manage cash drawer operations, including opening, closing, and reconciliation at the end of each shift
• Maintain strict cash handling procedures and security protocols to ensure the protection of hotel funds
• Provide exceptional customer service to guests whilst processing transactions in a professional and courteous manner
• Verify payment methods, including credit cards, cheques, and cash, and identify any discrepancies or fraudulent transactions
• Prepare daily financial reports and reconciliation statements, ensuring all transactions are accurately recorded
• Balance the till and report any variances to the Finance Manager 
• Maintain confidentiality regarding guest information and financial transactions
• Respond promptly to guest enquiries and resolve payment-related issues with professionalism
• Comply with all hotel policies, procedures, and financial regulations
• Support the front office team during peak periods to ensure efficient guest check-in and check-out processes
• Keep the cashier station organised, clean, and secure at all times

Qualifications

 

• Secondary school education or equivalent qualification
• Minimum 1-2 years of experience in a cashier or similar financial transactions role, preferably in a hospitality environment
• Proficiency in operating point-of-sale (POS) systems and cash handling equipment
• Strong numerical and mathematical skills with the ability to perform accurate calculations
• Excellent attention to detail and organisational abilities
• Fluency in English; additional language proficiency (Hindi, Mandarin, or other regional languages) is advantageous.
