About this role
We are seeking a compassionate and knowledgeable Genetic Counselor to join a collaborative, highly experienced genetics team. What You'll Do
- Provide remote genetic counseling to patients throughout the United States
- Conduct pre-test counseling and discuss genetic testing results
- Counsel patients primarily regarding hereditary cancer risks
- Clearly explain complex genetic information in an understandable and compassionate manner
- Support patients in understanding testing options, potential outcomes, and next steps
- Collaborate with genetic counselors, medical geneticists, and other healthcare professionals
- Identify opportunities to improve workflows and enhance the overall patient experience
- Contribute to educational and research initiatives as opportunities arise
- Maintain accurate, timely, and professional patient documentation
Requirements
What We're Looking For
- Master's Degree in Genetics or Genetic Counseling – Required
- Board Certification through the American Board of Genetic Counseling (ABGC) – Required
- Strong communication and patient counseling skills
- Ability to provide high-quality care effectively in a remote environment
- Experience with hereditary cancer counseling is highly desirable
- Multi-state genetic counseling licensure is preferred but not required
- Strong organizational skills and the ability to collaborate within a multidisciplinary team
