(Gonella) Quality Control Technician

Quality Control Technician -- Second Shift and Night Shift | Schaumburg, IL
$22/hr + Shift Differential + Mandatory Overtime | 6 Days/Week

Mural is partnering with a well-established food manufacturing company in Schaumburg, IL to fill two Quality Control Technician openings -- one second shift and one night shift. This is a 140-year-old family-owned manufacturer of frozen dough products distributed nationally. The QC team is small, the standards are high, and the manager is actively building a culture of accountability with real training and development support.

The shifts

Second shift: 1:30 PM to 9:00 PM, Monday through Saturday.

Night shift: 9:30 PM to 5:30 AM, Monday through Saturday.

Both shifts currently run six days a week with mandatory overtime. New hires train on day shift for three to four weeks alongside a QC technician with 20+ years of experience at this facility, then transition to their assigned shift.

What this pays

• $22.00 per hour base

• Shift differential on top of base (night shift: $1.50/hr; second shift differential being confirmed)

• Mandatory overtime six days per week; consistent paychecks well above 40-hour rate

• Uniform provided on-site

What you will be doing

You will cover quality checks across the production line from start to finish. Core duties include metal detector checks (ferrous, non-ferrous, stainless steel), batch ticket verification, label and lock code matching, allergen swabs, ATP environmental swabbing, visual inspection from mixing through molding, divider check weights, and hourly belt link inspections. You will have authority to place product on hold when standards are not met. Night shift includes pre-op line release before Monday startup.

What we are looking for

• Available to work Monday through Saturday on second or night shift consistently, including Fridays and Saturdays

• Computer literate: email, Excel, Word, scanning and saving files

• QC or quality inspection background from any manufacturing environment -- food is a plus, but chemical, pharmaceutical, automotive, and general manufacturing are all considered

• Organized, detail-oriented, and comfortable enforcing standards even under pushback

• Bilingual in English and Spanish is a genuine plus

• Clear background check required

This role is a fit if you

Have done quality work in manufacturing and know how to document what you find. Are genuinely okay working Saturday night shifts. Want to work somewhere that takes quality seriously and will develop you if you show up and perform. Have been frustrated in environments where standards are an afterthought.

This role is not a fit if you

Need a day shift or have a hard conflict with Saturdays. Are looking for a pay rate above $22/hr. Want a lighter workload -- six-day mandatory OT is the current standard and weekends are part of the schedule.
