Position Details

We're looking for a committed and enthusiastic Grounds Team Leader to join our Palm Lake Resort Pelican Waters team and help keep our resort grounds in pristine condition.

This Full Time, 38 hour per week, Monday to Friday role combines hands-on grounds maintenance with team leadership. You’ll coordinate daily maintenance and landscaping activities, support and guide the grounds team, and ensure equipment and work practices meet safety standards.

Responsibilities

• Assist in completion, allocation and supervision of work by grounds staff;
• Train grounds staff in the safe use, cleaning and storage of equipment & chemicals.
• Manage hazardous substance storage, labelling and registers.
• Ensure appropriate PPE use and provide staff training on correct PPE procedures.
• Hedge & tree trimming;
• Mowing, edging & whipper snipping;
• Control weeds and pests through the application of herbicides;
• Raking and blowing leaves, pruning and disposing of dying vegetation;
• Planting, mulching, and maintaining flowers and shrubs, including watering and maintenance of irrigation systems;
• Oversee the outdoor presentation of all facilities, including BBQ & pool maintenance;
• Ensure all mechanical equipment and tools are kept in good working order;

To excel in this role, you will bring:

• Qualification in Cert III Horticulture or equivalent is essential;

• Demonstrated experience in both leadership/supervisory & groundskeeping roles.

• A "C" class drivers licence; HR or MR licence will be highly regarded.

• ACDC chemical licence is advantageous.

• Ability to use equipment such as push mower, ride on mower, hedge trimmer, whipper snipper and blower;

• Experience in machine maintenance;

• Possess the physical ability to undertake the requirements of the role, including bending, lifting and carrying;

• The ability to lead by example, plan & execute work with limited supervision;
