Job responsibilities

  • Lead and manage the English department, ensuring high standards of teaching, learning, and student progress
  • Teach English to secondary school students and deliver engaging, well-structured lessons
  • Develop, review, and improve the English curriculum in line with the school’s academic goals
  • Support and mentor English teachers, including lesson observations, feedback, and professional development
  • Monitor student achievement and use assessment data to improve learning outcomes
  • Prepare lesson plans, assessments, reports, and other teaching-related materials
  • Work closely with school leadership and other departments to support whole-school academic development
  • Communicate effectively with students, parents, and colleagues regarding student progress and department matters
  • Organize and support English-related academic activities, competitions, reading programs, and enrichment projects

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree or above in English, Education, Literature, or a related subject
  • Recognized teaching qualification
  • At least 3 years of relevant English teaching experience
  • Previous experience as Head of Department, Subject Lead, or similar leadership role is preferred
  • Strong knowledge of international curricula and assessment standards
  • Excellent classroom management, communication, and leadership skills
