Job Scope:

Lead Bybit EU's legal operations function, development of the legal team as Bybit EU scales.

Set the direction for and oversee the design, implementation, and maintenance of compliance programs to ensure adherence to regulatory requirements, in particular under MiCAR.

Serve as a senior strategic advisor to the leadership team, guiding the end-to-end development and successful launch of MiCAR-compliant crypto products in partnership with product teams.

Oversee compliance risk assessments and audits to identify potential areas of non-compliance and direct corrective actions.

Monitor and analyze legislative and regulatory developments, translating them into clear strategic guidance for the business.

Lead the preparation and submission of regulatory reports, licenses, and approvals in Austria.

Guide Marketing and cross-functional teams to ensure promotional materials and product offerings meet stringent EU regulatory requirements.

Build compliance training and awareness programs across the organization.
Requirements:

A law degree (LLB, JD, Mag. iur., LL.M., or equivalent).

Minimum of 8 years of legal and regulatory experience, ideally within an in-house legal team at a large crypto/fintech firm. Experience in Austria and/or the EU strongly preferred.

Demonstrated experience leading regulatory or licensing initiatives (e.g. MiCAR licensing processes) and coordinating directly with regulators across multiple jurisdictions.

Strong understanding of Austrian and EU laws relating to regulatory compliance, in particular with respect to MiCAR, MiFID and E-Money Directive / Payment Services Directive, and banking sector.

Proven ability to partner cross-functionally with Product, Marketing, and leadership teams and to translate complex regulation into actionable guidance.

Excellent written and verbal communication skills in English. German proficiency is an advantage.

Able to lead independently in a fast-paced, regulated environment with high integrity and discretion.
