Head of Primary (Prep School)

We are looking for a Head of Primary (Prep School) for a British international school located in Foshan. This position is available from August 2027 for the 2027/28 academic year.

About the school

This is a British international school in Foshan, teaching an English National Curriculum pathway with a Prep School for its younger students. Support is in place for English as an Additional Language and for students with additional learning needs. The school has an established leadership structure, with clear policies for performance management, safeguarding and pastoral care.

Job details

• Lead teaching and learning across the Prep School, setting a clear vision and modelling excellent classroom practice
• Line manage and appraise Prep staff, supporting their development and planning for succession
• Oversee curricular planning, implementation and review in line with the School Development Plan
• Take responsibility for assessment, including internal papers, external examination entries and predicted grades
• Act as Deputy Designated Safeguarding Lead for the Prep School and uphold high standards of pastoral care
• Chair Prep teacher meetings and assemblies, and contribute to the Senior Leadership Team
• Manage the Prep budget, resources and inventory
• Teach lessons as required alongside the leadership responsibilities

Requirements

• Excellent spoken and written English
• Bachelor's degree or above, together with a recognised teaching qualification such as a PGCE or QTS
• Substantial primary or prep teaching experience, including previous leadership responsibility
• Familiarity with the English National Curriculum preferred
• Enthusiastic, responsible, and a strong team player in a multicultural setting

• Annual salary of 400,000 to 650,000 RMB, commensurate with experience and background, and negotiable for the right candidate
