About the role

We are seeking a safety-focused Heavy Diesel Leading Hand to join our Mobile Maintenance Team. This hands-on role combines trade work with day-to-day team leadership, supporting a small team of underground heavy vehicle tradespeople.

You’ll diagnose, repair and maintain underground mobile equipment, including loaders, haul trucks, graders and shotcreters, across our underground and surface workshops. Working closely with the Mobile Maintenance Supervisor, you’ll coordinate tasks, troubleshoot issues and help maximise fleet reliability, minimise downtime and maintain high safety and performance standards, using your expertise in diagnostics, hydraulics, welding and servicing.

• Roster: 7/7 (Day & Night Shift)

• Cycle: Tuesday > Wednesday

• Crew: B/C

• Shift Start: 7 Oct, 21 Oct, 4 Nov, 18 Nov

• Location: Peak Mine, Cobar NSW

Travel options

• Residents enjoy a balanced roster and the opportunity to settle into the family-friendly township of Cobar. Relocation support is available, along with a residential allowance

• DIDO if you live within an 800km radius of the Mine site which includes a travel allowance

• FIFO from Brisbane, Sydney or Melbourne

Qualifications & Experience

• Heavy Diesel Fitter Trade Certificate or equivalent

• Previous Leading Hand experience in a similar role

• Underground hardrock mining experience, with exposure to mobile plant including:

  • Sandvik Jumbos

  • CAT Loaders

  • ITS

  • Epiroc Haul Trucks

  • Volvo Graders

  • Agi Trucks

  • Spray Rigs

  • Normet Shotcreters

• Strong troubleshooting skills with the ability to read and interpret pneumatic, electrical and hydraulic schematics

• Strong commitment to safety and safe work practices
