House Manager

About the role

We’re looking for a dependable, organized House Manager to help keep a private household clean, comfortable, and running smoothly.

This is a hands-on role focused on housekeeping, meal preparation, errands, and everyday household needs. Our ideal candidate enjoys caring for a home, takes pride in their work, and communicates clearly. They’ll learn the household’s preferences and establish routines that keep daily tasks on track.

Key responsibilities

• Perform regular housekeeping, including cleaning bathrooms and kitchens, dusting, vacuuming, mopping, and changing bed linens.
• Manage laundry, including washing, drying, folding, ironing as needed, and putting items away.
• Plan and prepare meals based on household preferences and dietary requirements.
• Shop for groceries, monitor pantry items, and keep household supplies stocked.
• Run errands, including picking up orders, dropping off dry cleaning, and handling returns.
• Keep living spaces, closets, and storage areas tidy and organized.
• Coordinate access for scheduled maintenance, repairs, and household service providers.
• Follow a regular household schedule and communicate supply needs, maintenance concerns, or scheduling changes.
• Respect the family’s privacy and handle household information with discretion.

What we’re looking for

• Previous experience in housekeeping, cooking, household support, or a similar role; 1–3 years preferred.
• Ability to clean thoroughly and maintain consistent standards.
• Comfort preparing everyday meals and following recipes and dietary instructions.
• Strong organization, attention to detail, and follow-through.
• Dependability, punctuality, and clear communication.
• Ability to work independently after learning household routines and preferences.
• A valid driver’s license and reliable transportation for errands.
• Respect for privacy, personal belongings, and professional boundaries.

Preferred experience

• Experience working in a private home.
• Experience managing cleaning schedules, grocery shopping, and meal preparation.
• Ability to provide references from previous employers or clients.

The home is consistently clean and organized, meals are prepared as planned, supplies are stocked, and errands are completed reliably. Household needs are communicated early, and the family can count on dependable, thoughtful support.
