Housekeeper Primary Responsibilities

The Housekeeper is responsible for providing housekeeping services throughout the facility to help maintain a clean, sanitary, safe, and welcoming environment for our residents, employees, and visitors.

Responsibilities may include:

• Cleaning resident rooms, common areas, offices, hallways, and other assigned areas

• Dusting, sweeping, mopping, vacuuming, and sanitizing surfaces

• Cleaning and disinfecting bathrooms

• Emptying trash and properly disposing of waste

• Following infection-control and safety procedures

• Restocking housekeeping supplies as needed

• Reporting maintenance or safety concerns

• Providing friendly and respectful service to residents

• Working as part of the team to keep our facility looking its best

Responsibilities

Housekeeper Essential Functions

• Housekeepers will follow established housekeeping guidelines and quality assurance standards
• Maintain cleaning schedules for assigned area
• Coordinating routine/terminal isolation procedures with Nursing Services
• Maintain knowledge of safety regulations, policies and procedures and following the established safety procedures and precautions
• Housekeepers will report all unsafe/hazardous conditions, defective equipment, etc. to supervisor immediately
• Honoring the residents’ personal and property rights
• Filing complaints/grievances with supervisor in a timely fashion

Qualifications

Housekeeper Qualifications

• Housekeeper must have a thorough understanding of the principles of safe effective housekeeping practices within the State of Indiana
• Have the ability to be a team player to partner with other departments
• A high school diploma or GED is preferred, but not required
