Penn State Construction is seeking an HR Generalist with 1 to 3 years of human resources experience to own the day-to-day administration that keeps our people function reliable and audit ready. This role handles candidate and employee lifecycle administration, HR compliance, and department follow-through so nothing falls through the cracks.

The HR Generalist keeps PSC's people operations running day to day, owning the administration, compliance, and follow-through so the Director of People & Culture can stay focused on strategy, culture, and employee relations.

Responsibilities

Support Candidate & Employee Lifecycle Administration

• Complete first-look review of new applications, communicate outcomes to candidates, and schedule phone screens for qualified candidates
• Complete pre-hire, onboarding, and offboarding administrative tasks in BambooHR within defined timelines
• Maintain current job descriptions and the performance review cycle
• Track employee anniversaries and milestone dates, and serve as the first point of contact for routine employee policy questions and day-to-day department communications

Own HR Compliance & Data Integrity

• Own the personnel file compliance system, conducting recurring BambooHR audits and correcting identified gaps directly
• Serve as the company's point of ownership for I-9 and E-Verify compliance, DOT/CDL personnel-file compliance, and other employment and safety compliance programs
• Maintain current state and federal labor law postings, and provide day-to-day Samsara system administration for the mechanics and fleet team

Execute Culture & Special Projects

• Partner with the Director to scope, plan, and execute culture initiatives and special projects from concept through completion
• Build project plans and timelines, coordinate vendors and internal communications, and provide proactive status updates before issues become the Director's problem
• Pull Safe Driver Award data from Samsara and execute the monthly recognition program, including announcements and award logistics

Qualifications

• Minimum 1 to 3 years of human resources experience required
• Experience with HR compliance areas such as I-9/E-Verify required
• Strong written and verbal communication skills required
• High degree of discretion and confidentiality required
• Proficiency in Microsoft Office and HRIS systems such as BambooHR required
• Strong organizational skills and ability to manage multiple priorities independently required
