The Role

You'll lead all aspects of Human Resources, providing expert advice and ensuring HR practices support both the school's strategic objectives and the wellbeing of its employees.

Key responsibilities include:

  • Leading recruitment, onboarding, and safer recruitment processes

  • Providing expert guidance on employee relations, attendance management, disciplinary, grievance, and capability matters

  • Developing and reviewing HR policies in line with current employment legislation

  • Managing contracts, HR systems, personnel records, and payroll changes

  • Producing workforce data and reports to support strategic decision-making

  • Leading initiatives to improve staff wellbeing, engagement, and retention

  • Supporting organisational development and workforce planning

  • Working closely with senior leaders to foster a positive and high-performing workplace culture

About the School

This highly successful primary school is recognised for its strong leadership, excellent staff retention, and commitment to creating an outstanding working environment. Professional development is actively encouraged, collaboration is embedded across the school, and every member of staff is valued for the contribution they make to the school's continued success.

The Successful Candidate

Applications are welcomed from experienced HR Managers, HR Business Partners, Senior HR Advisors, or experienced HR professionals seeking to lead HR within an ambitious educational setting.

You'll have excellent knowledge of UK employment law, experience managing complex HR casework, and the confidence to advise senior leaders on a broad range of people matters. Strong interpersonal skills, discretion, and the ability to build trusted relationships across the organisation are essential.

As part of the school's safer recruitment procedures, references from your current (or most recent) employer and a previous employer will be required before an interview can be arranged.
