HSE Officer

At Rosebel Gold Mines N.V., we are committed to ensuring the safety and well-being of our employees. We are currently seeking dedicated Safety Officers to join our Occupational Health & Safety department. As a Safety Officer, you will play a crucial role in promoting and maintaining a safe work environment for all employees.

Your key responsibilities will include:

• Providing safety training and education to employees and contractors.

• Conducting regular inspections and audits to identify potential hazards and ensure compliance with safety regulations.

• Maintain, review and update safety programs to prevent accidents and improve compliance with standards and regulations.

• Developing and implementing safety policies and procedures.

• Investigating accidents and incidents to determine root causes and implementing corrective actions.

• Monitoring and evaluating the effectiveness of safety programs.

• Promote the awareness of safety risks and compliance standards by consistently providing advisory information and training to all employees.

• Participate in incident investigations and facilitate ICAM investigations.

Requirements

The ideal candidate will have:

• Senior High School diploma (HAVO/VWO/MBO).

• Minimum of 3 years of experience as health & Safety officer.

• Strong knowledge of occupational health and safety regulations and certification in Occupational Health & Safety.

• Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.

• Ability to conduct safety inspections and risk assessments.

• Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite.

• Good communication and interpersonal skills in Dutch and English.

• Willingness to work on a rotational schedule of 14 days of work followed by 7 days break at Rosebel Gold Mines in Brokopondo.
