We are seeking an experienced HSEQ Coordinator to ensure that the organization is taking all measures to protect employee health, prevent workplace accidents, minimize environmental impact, and maintain high standards in products or services. RESPONSIBILITES:
Provide leadership on all HSEQ matters to ensure alignment with company objectives and industry best practices. Promote a proactive HSEQ culture at all levels of the organization.
Safety
- Oversee Safety training programs, inductions, and safety workshops.
- Coordinate and monitor Safety activities on engineering projects and field operations.
- Track and log incidents, near misses, observations, and corrective actions.
- Analyze incident trends and safety performance metrics for continuous improvement.
- Maintain third-party pre-qualification systems, such as Ariba, ISNetworld, Avetta, Veriforce and NCMS, to achieve compliance.
- Prepare monthly, quarterly, and annual HSEQ reports for internal stakeholders and clients.
- Support onboarding new staff and contractors, ensuring all required HSEQ training and documentation is completed.
- Maintain training matrices and ensure employee certifications and medicals are current.
- Coordinate, arrange, schedule and book safety training, medical exams, and technical training for personnel.
- Conduct and train supervisors to be able to perform site safety inspections, hazard assessments, and job safety analyses (JSA).
- Track and report on leading and lagging HSE indicators (TRIFR, LTIFR, etc.).
- Participate in emergency response planning and drills.
- Maintain confidentiality and accurate filing of sensitive HSEQ records.
- Oversee incident investigations and near misses using root cause analysis methodologies.
- Ensure timely reporting, follow-up, and closeout of all incidents in accordance with legal and client requirements.
- Plan, schedule, and act as the company’s Safety representative during audits, inspections, and client meetings.
Quality
- Promote awareness of company Quality policies and objectives.
- Oversee internal quality assurance and quality control (QA/QC) systems across engineering and project execution.
- Ensure effective implementation of project quality plans, inspections, ITPs, and supplier audits.
- Ensure quality records and traceability of engineering deliverables and components.
- Maintain training matrices and ensure competency records are up to date.
- Collate evidence for audits, inspections, and client reviews.
- Lead investigations into non-conformances using root cause analysis methodologies.
- Act as the company’s Quality representative during audits, inspections, and client meetings.
- Track audit actions and ensure timely closeout.
- Drive customer satisfaction through effective quality planning, performance monitoring, and non-conformance resolution.
Environment
- Ensure compliance with environmental regulations (e.g., waste management, spill control, emissions).
- Support environmental impact assessments (EIA) and sustainability initiatives.
- Ensure staff are properly trained in any regulations that apply to our services.
Other
- Order and manage stock of HSEQ materials (e.g., PPE, signage, first aid).
- Ensure we are meeting all the HSEQ requirements spelled out in our contracts with our clients.
REQUIREMENTS:
- Minimum 4–7 years’ experience in an HSEQ role within oil & gas or heavy engineering.
- Strong knowledge of HSEQ standards and third-party pre-qualification systems.
- Ability to handle sensitive data with confidentiality and integrity.
- Experienced preparing reports for senior management and clients.
- Diligent with strong attention to detail, accuracy, and ability to manage competing priorities in dynamic environments.
- Self-motivated with excellent time management skills.
- Initiative and ability to effectively interface with all stakeholders, field and office teams.
- Excellent communication (both written and verbal) and interpersonal skills to engage with management, the project team members, and 3rd party organizations.
- Experienced knowledge user of HSEQ software platforms and MS Office suite (Excel, Word, Outlook, PowerPoint).
- Experience working with documents and data.
- Commitment to deliver timely and accurate results.
- Ability to prioritize work effectively and ask for support if needed.
- Good understanding of work group’s processes and procedures.
- Ability to develop positive working relationships quickly across a broad range of discipline groups and teams, build relationships, and influence internal and external project stakeholders.
