HVAC Temperature Controls Technician II - Neuro Expansion

Our Institute is expanding with a new one million square foot, 15 floor, state of the art facility on Main Campus to enhance care for complex conditions such as brain tumors, spine injuries, epileptic seizures, neuromuscular disorders and strokes. The building brings all stages of care under one roof with dedicated areas for outpatient services, surgery, stepdown, ICU and epilepsy monitoring, along with additional operating rooms and expanded ambulatory, infusion, imaging, EMG, sleep and brain study services.

As a member of theHVAC team, you will gain experience working on a wide range of projects and systems, train with the newest technology and receive guidance from fellow Techs and management. While you may not interact with patients directly, your efforts will leaving a positive, lasting impression – from the moment they enter the facility to the time they return home.

A caregiver in this position works nights, 10:30pm—7:00am.

A caregiver who excels in this role will:

• Inspect, repair, monitor, maintainand troubleshoot Heating, Ventilation, and Air Conditioning (HVAC) systems and equipment throughout the facility (e.g., chiller systems, reheat systems, variable frequency drives (VFD), air handling units (AHU), humidifiers, dampers, heating and cooling coils, cooling towers, and pumps).

• Document and maintain records of inspections and work performed.

• Inspect and maintainall temperature, humidity, and data logging devices, including meters and gauges.

• Utilize the Building Management System (BMS) to address customer service requests, adjust temperature set points, and start and stop equipment.

• Receive and respond to work orders from the computerized maintenance management system.

• Respond to alarms and alerts appropriately.

• Work at additional Cleveland Clinic locations as needed.

Minimum qualifications for the ideal future caregiver include:

• High School Diploma/GED

• Valid Driver’s License (VDL) and insurable driving record

• Three years of experience with chiller systems, reheat systems, variable frequency drives (VFD), air handling units (AHU), humidifiers, dampers, heating and cooling coils, cooling towersand/or pumps OR military experience as aUtilitiesman (UT), Machinists Mate (MM), HVAC/R (3E1X1), Utilities Equipment Repairer (91C) or a similar role

• Understanding of the tools and techniques used to maintain, diagnose and repair HVAC systems

• Basic knowledge of building management systems

• Can read blueprints

• Military experience such as Utilitiesman (UT), Machinists Mate (MM), HVAC/R (3E1X1), Utilities Equipment Repairer (91C), Heating, Ventilation, Air Conditioning, & Refrigeration (3E1X1) or similar will be considered
