As Infrastructure Lead, you’ll take ownership of our infrastructure environment while leading a small, high-performing team and ensuring our platforms are secure, resilient and available 24/7. You’ll balance leadership and hands-on technical expertise, guiding cloud and on-prem systems, supporting major projects, and driving continuous improvement across our infrastructure landscape. Working closely with the IT Operations Manager, you’ll help shape strategy, manage risk, and ensure our technology enables high-quality services for communities across Aotearoa.

- Lead, support and develop a high-performing infrastructure team, ensuring a strong culture of collaboration and accountability
- Provide technical leadership across cloud and hybrid environments, ensuring systems are secure, resilient and fit-for-purpose
- Oversee infrastructure operations, including escalations, major incidents, and 24/7 service availability
- Manage security and risk, including vulnerability remediation, audits and cybersecurity incident response activities
- Partner with stakeholders and vendors to deliver reliable infrastructure services and continuous improvement
- Contribute to infrastructure strategy, architecture and roadmap planning aligned to organisational goals
- Drive performance through reporting, team planning and proactive issue and risk management
- Mentor and uplift capability across the wider IT team through knowledge sharing and support

Qualifications
Mōu ake | About you
You bring strong experience in IT infrastructure, ideally across cloud (Microsoft Azure) and hybrid environments, along with proven experience in a senior or leadership role within a technical support team. You’re confident managing competing priorities, incidents and stakeholders in a fast-paced environment, with a solid understanding of security, risk and compliance best practices.
As a collaborative leader, you enjoy developing others, sharing knowledge and building team capability. You’re also an effective communicator who can translate technical concepts for a wide range of audiences, and you bring a genuine commitment to equity, culturally safe practice and Te Tiriti o Waitangi.
Ōu wheako ōu mātauranga hoki | Qualifications and Experience
- 5+ years IT support and engineering experience across a range of services and disciplines
- Technical certifications in the Microsoft cloud stack
- 3+ years demonstrated positive stakeholder relationship management
- 1+ years of experience leading or in a senior role within a technical support team or similar
