Albemarle is hiring for an Instrument Mechanic 1/C in Pasadena, Texas. This position will be in-office.

What you will do

• Execute and document inspections of critical, environmental, quality, and maintenance instrumentation

• Troubleshoot, calibrate, maintain, and repair field devices such as transmitters, control valves, flow meters, and temperature elements

• Maintain and repair electrical systems including motor starters, breakers, lighting, and combustible gas detectors

• Inspect, adjust, and repair weight scales used for process verification

• Diagnose and resolve complex process issues related to control and measurement systems

• Support operations with troubleshooting and continuous improvement of process reliability

• Perform maintenance and repairs on pneumatic, electronic, and analytical instrumentation systems

What you bring

Required:

• High School Diploma or GED

• NCCER certification in Industrial Instrumentation

• Minimum 5 years of experience in industrial instrumentation and 2 years in industrial electrical systems

• Demonstrated ability to troubleshoot, maintain, and repair pneumatic, electronic, and instrumentation equipment in a petrochemical environment

• Ability to follow direction, prioritize work, collaborate with operations, and cross-train in electrical duties

It’d be great if you also have:

• Associate of Science degree in Industrial Instrumentation

• 10+ years of experience in an industrial plant and 5+ years in industrial electrical systems

• Proficiency in computer software (Microsoft Office, Workday, SharePoint, Adobe, etc.)

• Strong communication and collaboration skills across plant teams

• Experience with DCS/PLC troubleshooting, calibration, and installation of control systems and measurement devices

• Ability to read and interpret blueprints, schematics, and technical manuals

• Experience operating mobile equipment and using advanced test equipment
