We are seeking an experienced Integrated Logistics Support (ILS) Engineer to join a high-performing engineering environment focused on complex electronic and avionics systems. The role is responsible for ensuring that systems are designed and supported in a way that optimises lifecycle cost, reliability, maintainability, safety, and operational effectiveness.

You will work closely with systems engineering and cross-functional teams to influence design decisions and develop comprehensive supportability analyses and documentation across the product lifecycle.

Requirements

Key Responsibilities

Integrated Logistics Support & Systems Analysis

  • Influence system design for reliability, maintainability, testability, and safety.
  • Conduct Logistic Support Analysis (LSA) to define maintenance requirements, resources, tools, personnel, and support equipment.
  • Develop and maintain system Maintenance Concepts aligned with operational requirements.
  • Consolidate maintenance data into structured Maintenance Plans.
  • Define packaging, handling, storage, and transportation requirements for systems and equipment.
  • Identify facility requirements for maintenance and training environments.

Reliability & Failure Analysis

  • Perform reliability analysis of systems and products.
  • Conduct Failure Modes, Effects, and Criticality Analysis (FMECA).
  • Identify failure modes, causes, effects, and mitigation strategies.
  • Support conversion of FMECA outputs into Failure Catalogues.
  • Participate in failure investigations and corrective action processes.

Systems Engineering Support

  • Support testability analysis within the systems engineering environment.
  • Assist Safety Engineers with safety assessments, including failure impact and probability analysis.
  • Contribute to Fault Tree Analysis (FTA) development.
  • Support multidisciplinary engineering teams interfacing with internal stakeholders.

Maintenance & Support Planning

  • Define optimal spare parts provisioning based on operational profiles and maintenance strategies.
  • Specify support and test equipment requirements for systems and subsystems.
  • Contribute to lifecycle support optimisation and cost reduction strategies.

Technical Documentation

  • Draft Service Letters, Technical Bulletins, and Service Bulletins.
  • Develop technical publications where required.
  • Provide ad hoc technical writing support when capacity is constrained within documentation teams.

Operational Support

  • Provide support to product and engineering teams across multiple programs.
  • Engage with cross-functional stakeholders to ensure effective product supportability.
  • Manage timesheets and ensure accurate recovery of billable hours.

Required Knowledge & Experience

Technical Knowledge

  • Understanding of electronic warfare (EW) and avionics systems and operational environments.
  • Familiarity with systems engineering principles and lifecycle support concepts.

Standards & Methodologies

  • Experience with:
    • MIL-HDBK-217F Notice 2
    • MIL-STD-1629A (or equivalent reliability/failure analysis standards)

Practical Experience

  • Background in logistics engineering, system safety engineering, and/or technical authoring.
  • Experience with reliability and maintainability analysis tools and methods.
  • Exposure to engineering support environments is advantageous.
  • Leadership or management training is beneficial but not required.

Tools & Systems

  • Windchill Quality Solutions / Relex or similar reliability tools
  • MS Excel, MS Word, MS PowerPoint
  • ERP systems (e.g., IFS or equivalent)
  • Eagle LSA Toolset or comparable logistics support tools
